I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the usual confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
